"The Wings" or "Boy with Eagle"

At Skeppsholmsbron's stronghold, in front of the National Museum, Carl Milles' sculpture ”Wings” or ”Boy stands with eagle” as it is also called. Carl Mille's interest in Greek mythology is reflected in this 1908 sculpture in which the myth of Ganymedes is reproduced. The youngster Ganymedes was considered most beautiful among the humans and was therefore abducted by the god Zeus who turned himself into an eagle.
